Château Grand Pey Lescours St Emilion Grand Cru 2018
Description
Monsieur Bouldy, of Château Bellisle-Mondotte and Bellegrave fame in Pomerol has been looking after Château Grand Pey Lescours since the late 1980s. This 25 hectare Grand Cru estate is based just outside of St Emilion. Farmed organically on clay-limestone soils, it is planted predominantly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Grand Pey Lescours is arguably the definition of quality and value in Saint-Emilion - if not Bordeaux itself.
Savoury aromas of cassis and black cherry with a hint of spicy oak. Medium bodied with appealing forest fruit flavours and fine grained tannins. Showing some attractive development with nice precision and a fine mineral backbone.
