Amiral de Beychevelle 2018
Description
Amiral de Beychevelle is an elegant, Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant Left Bank red wine from France's Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux that beautifully captures classic Saint-Julien refinement by blending rich fruit purity with a structured, oak-aged complexity. On the nose, this characteristic Bordeaux red shows an expressive bouquet of ripe black cherry, mulberry, and wild blueberry, seamlessly layered with notes of pencil shavings, cedar wood, sweet tobacco leaf, and subtle dark cocoa. The palate is velvety, precise, and beautifully balanced, offering a refined texture with lush flavours of blackcurrant, dark plum, and blackberry compote supported by savoury mocha, graphite, gentle baking spice, polished silky tannins, and an energetic freshness that keeps its structure focused. The finish is long, savoury, and structured, lingering on notes of red-berry coulis, toasted cedar, and a clean mineral earthiness, making it a perfect pairing for roasted lamb, prime ribeye steak, venison, or aged hard cheeses.
