21 Gables Collection

If the historic walls of Spier Wine Farm could speak, they would tell a story written in light, oak, and over three centuries of quiet dedication.
Across our Stellenbosch estate stand 21 original Cape Dutch gables—the largest preserved collection on any single farm in South Africa. Each ornate archway represents a chapter of architectural heritage, built line by line by master craftsmen who believed that if something was worth creating, it was worth doing with absolute devotion.
The 21 Gables Collection was born out of this exact same philosophy.
Just as those master builders sculpted raw clay and lime into timeless monuments, our winemakers take a single grape variety and shape it into a pure expression of place. There are no blends to hide behind here—only an unvarnished dialogue between soil, ocean breezes, and hand-tended vines.

Creative Block

Great wine, like great art, begins with a vision and a blank canvas.
The Creative Block Collection draws its inspiration from a celebrated South African arts project supported by Spier. Artists are handed a single blank wooden block and invited to express their creative vision. When individual works are placed side by side, they form a collective masterpiece greater than the sum of its parts.
Our winemakers apply this exact spirit of alchemy to the cellar.
Where single-varietal wines celebrate a solitary voice, Creative Block is a symphony. It is the art of combining distinct grape varieties harvested from hand-selected vineyard blocks across the Cape.
Each bottle is named for the number of cultivars harmonised within it—from the vibrant, three-variety warmth of Creative Block 3 to the rich, layered complexity of our five-variety Bordeaux-style Creative Block 5.

Seaward

Off the sweeping coastlines of the Western Cape, two mighty oceans meet, sending cool maritime breezes rolling across coastal hillsides. It is here, in vineyards brushed by these relentless winds, that the Seaward Collection comes to life.
Nature’s own cooling system is at work here. The maritime breezes temper the sun’s warmth, allowing our grapes to ripen slowly and gracefully on the vine. This patient ripening process concentrates vibrant fruit flavours while preserving crisp natural acidity and a distinct, sea-sprayed minerality.

The Good Natured Organic Collection is the culmination of years spent learning to listen to the land. Free from synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and artificial fertilisers, our organic vineyards thrive as living ecosystems. Here, cover crops enrich the earth, while bees, birds, and beneficial insects act as nature’s own guardians.
In the cellar, our approach is intentionally gentle: step back and let nature speak for itself.
