Château La Lagune 2016 is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant Third Growth Bordeaux red wine that combines the benchmark structure and precision of an iconic, cool-night vintage with the estate's signature aromatic elegance and silkiness: on the nose it shows vibrant blackcurrant, dark raspberry, and black cherry layered with crushed graphite, fresh cedar, dried tobacco leaf, and a distinct hint of violet and sweet spices; the palate is medium-to-full-bodied yet seamless, with flavours of crisp cassis, juicy black plum, and dark woodland berries supported by notes of savoury mocha, pencil shavings, and gentle cardamom, sometimes edging into riper hints of blackberry reduction, while finely grained, velvety tannins and a brilliant, energetic acidity keep it incredibly balanced and focused; the finish is long, dry, and aristocratic, lingering on red-berry coulis, toasted oak, and a clean, stony minerality.
